JOHN HENRY FOLCKEMER
PRATTSBURGH – John Henry Folckemer, 55, passed away Friday (April 20, 2018) at Rochester Unity Hospital. He was born in Bath, New York of December 20, 1962, the son of the late Harry Folckemer and still surviving, Ludmilla Rutherford.
John was a master craftsman and brilliant cabinet maker for 40 years. He loved to cook and was an outstanding chef. He was an avid hunter and fisherman; motorcycle rider and loved camping. John fulfilled his dream of cross country camping in a vintage camper that was built in 1960 and which he totally refurbished by himself. He had a great sense of humor – telling the best ever jokes. He loved his children and friends more than anything in the world. John was immensely proud of his children.
He was predeceased by his sister, Harryetta Parrish and ex-wife, Kim Marie. He is survived by his children, daughter, Tina (Casper) Kramer and son, John Folckemer; sister, Angelika (Scott) McDonald, sister, Sonya May, brother, Harry (Janette) Folckemer, sister, Jeanette (Dale) Martin, sister, Mary (Jeff) Gilbert; grandson, Jullian and granddaughter, Kinsley. Also, his pride and joy and loving companion, his Yorkshire terrier, Mr. Gizmo.
The Avoca Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of John Henry Folckemer.
There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be held in his memory at 4 p.m. Wednesday (April 25, 2018) at the Avoca Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., Avoca.
