JEANETTE H. CLARK
ARKPORT-Jeanette H. Clark, 86, formerly of Arkport, entered into rest peacefully, early Friday afternoon (Aug. 15, 2008) with compassionate care, at Kirkhaven in Rochester, where she has resided the past three and a half years.
Born in Susquehanna, Pa. on April 27, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Milo and Marian Adams Hillis. On May 22, 1948, she was married in Andover to A.D. “Jim” Clark, who predeceased her in 1982 after 34 years of marriage.
Jeanette graduated from high school in Susquehanna, Pa. and had resided in Arkport for most of her life where she served as the Arkport Village Librarian for over 30 years before her retirement.
She was a dedicated member of the First Presbyterian Church of Arkport for many years and a former member of the Arkport Volunteer Ambulance.
An avid reader, Jeanette also loved animals, especially cats and dogs and was never seen without one of her devoted pets.
Her family includes her three children, David (Linda) Clark, Paul Clark and Polly (Kevin) Schwarz; also her granddaughter, Kaleigh Schwarz.
There will be no calling hours. Friends are invited to the First Presbyterian Church of Arkport where a service celebrating Jeanette’s life will be held at 7p.m. Monday, with the Rev. Steven Jewell officiating. Interment will be in the Arkport Cemetery, at the convenience of her family.
