JADWIGA “YAJ” HAUSER

HORNELL-Jadwiga “Yaj” Hauser, 67, passed away Tuesday evening (May 28, 2013) at her home on the Big Creek Road, County Route 70A.
Born in Germany on January 3, 1946, she was a daughter of Stanley Lukowski, who predeceased her and Jessica Baranska Lukowski, who survives.
A former resident of Bayonne, N.J., Yaj was married for 26 years to Julius W. “Jules” Hauser, who predeceased her on October 22, 2010.
She has resided at her home on the Big Creek Road since coming to Hornell in 1983 and was employed by the Hornell City School District at the Hornell High School as a cafeteria worker for 10 years and retired in 2011 as a teachers’ aide.
Yaj attended St. Ann’s Church of Our Lady of the Valley Parish in Hornell.
Her family includes her son, Joseph (Rachel) Bradley of Rochester; her daughter, Janice (Dominic) Daniels of Hornell and their soon to arrive baby girl; her mother, Jessica Lukowski of Little Ferry, N.J.; her stepson, Mark (Laurie) Hauser of Georgia; her seven step grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren; her brother, Stanley Lukowski of Little Ferry, N.J.; her two sisters, Sophie (Thomas) Slezak of Brewster, Mass. and Maria (Kelly) Carson of San Antonio, TX; also her nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 10 a.m.-Noon Saturday at the Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St., Hornell, where a funeral service will be held following calling hours at Noon Saturday, with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Fremont.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 13 Beech St., Johnson City, N.Y. 13790. Envelopes for memorial contributions will be available at the funeral home.
