ROCHESTER/HORNELL – Jack L. Williams passed away peacefully on Thursday (Nov 23, 2023) at the age of 90, after a short illness.
Born in Hornell, NY on November 16, 1933, he was the son of John E. and Edith F. (Palmer) Williams.
Jack is a 1952 graduate of Hornell High School, and afterward, honorably served his country in the U.S. Army Signal Core as a photographer. Upon discharge, he spent many years as an industrial and commercial photographer in the Rochester area. He was a founding member of the Greater Rochester Industrial Photographers (GRIP). Later, buying and selling antiques became a passion for the remainder of his career. He was member of the Genesee Country Antique Dealers Association.
He is pre-deceased by his parents. John E. Williams and Edith F. Williams; sisters, Dorothy and Barbara Williams; and former wife Beverley (Crowe) Williams.
He is survived by his children, Mark Williams, Christine (Mike) Crittenden; his grandchildren, Michael (Ashley) Williams, Jennifer (Greg) Robinson, Mark, Jr. (Stefanie) Williams, John Crittenden, and several great grandchildren.
The family will greet relatives and friends form 11 a.m. to Noon (Dec. 1, 2023) at the Bishop-Johnson & DeSanto Funeral Home, 285 Main St., Hornell where a brief prayer service will take place at 12:15 p.m. Friday. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Rural Cemetery, Hornell.
The United States flag and the Army flag will proudly fly at the Bishop-Johnson & DeSanto Funeral Home in recognition of Jack’s military service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made be made to Lollypop Farm, Humane Society of Greater Rochester, 99 Victor Rd., Fairport, NY 14450. Envelopes for memorial contributions will be available at the funeral home.
