HELEN NETTIE WRAIGHT

LADY LAKE, Fla./AVOCA-Helen Nettie Wraight,82, of Lady Lake Fla. formerly of Avoca, died Saturday (May 8, 2010) at the Lady Lake Specialty Care in Lady Lake, Fla.
Born in Avoca on Aug. 31, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Florence Edwards Armstrong. She was married to Gordon L. Wraight, who predeceased her on Aug. 29, 2009. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her son, Stanley Wraight in 2008 and her brother, Erwin Armstrong.
A former resident of Avoca, Helen resided in Zephyrhills, Fla. from 1976 until moving to the The Villages, Fla. in 2007.
She was a member of the Wheeler Grange, a Dairy Lea member and an officer of the New York Farm Bureau as well as a member of the DAR. Helen enjoyed camping, traveling around the country, doing crafts and weekly visits with her late husband to Busch Gardens in Tampa, Fla.
Her family includes her four daughters, Janice (Tad) Thompson of The Villages, Fla., Catherine (Elwood) Bear of Citrus Heights, Calif., Mary (Larry) Compton of Albuquerque, NM, and Sally (Chris) Duda of Collegeville, Pa.; her daughter-in-law, Martha Wraight of Bath; her nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Calling hours are from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Avoca Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., Avoca, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday with her grandson, Rev. Patrick Wraight officiating. Committal services and interment will follow at the Prattsburgh Rural Cemetery.
