GREGORY T. “CADO” CADE

HORNELL-Gregory T. “Cado” Cade, 58, of Hornell, passed away Friday afternoon (Nov. 23, 2012) at McAuley Manor in North Hornell, where he has resided since last December.
Born in Hartford, Ct. on April 7, 1954, he was a son of the late Ellis and Dorothea Gilmore Cade. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his two brothers, Ellis Julius Cade and William Alfred Cade.
A graduate of Hornell High School, class of 1972, Cado also attended Alfred State College for Culinary Arts before serving with the U.S. Army. After his honorable discharge from the Army he resided in Colorado and California before returning to Hornell about 20 years ago. When he returned to Hornell he was employed at Wegmans and later by the Gunlocke Co. in Wayland.
Cado was an extremely talented drummer and was a member of several bands including Highland Blade and most recently by Blue City Love Cycle.
His family includes his son, Devon MacLennan of Diamond Bar, Calif.; his two sisters, Saundra (William) Howard-Beasley of New Brunswick, N.J. and Victoria “Vicki” (Douglas) Foster of Hornell; his niece, Tyera Harris of Hartford, Ct.; his two great-nieces, Morgan and Logan Harris both of Hartford, Ct.; his nephew, Kristopher Young of Richmond, Va.; also several aunts, uncles, many cousins as well as many friends, including his long time friend, Thomas House of Angelica.
There will be no calling hours. A committal service with military honors will be held at Bath National Cemetery at a later date.
