Franklin Atwood “Buster” LaBar
  BATH-Franklin Atwood “Buster” LaBar, 83, passed away late Friday evening (July 29, 2022) at the Steuben Center in Bath.
Born in the Town of Tyrone, NY on June 19, 1939, he was a son of the late Franklin and Ida (Dassance) LaBar. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by one son, Jay; one sister, Lorraine and two brothers, Ted and Steve.
A resident of Steuben County for most of his life, Buster retired from Hakes Equipment in Gang Mills, NY where he was employed as an auto mechanic.
He was a member of the Painted Post Field & Stream, where was a former groundskeeper.
Buster will be remembered for having a full life and enjoyed horses, hunting and stock car racing at Woodhull and Dundee.
He is lovingly survived by seven children, Evelyn Peazzone of Gettysburg, PA, Roger (Bonnie) LaBar of Prattsburgh, NY, Kimberly Shaut of Dundee, NY, Barbara (David) Little of Dundee, NY, Joseph (Chrissy) Button of Painted Post, NY, Robert (Jessica) LaBar of Prattsburgh, NY and Brandy (Evan) McAfee of Dundee, NY. His whole life were his 14 grandchildren, many grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Betty Spence of Ontario, Canada.
There will be no calling hours. A private service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in his memory to the Savona Rod & Gun Club, 5907 Bonny Hill Road, Bath, NY 14810.
