ARKPORT – Francis Gail Coombs, 77, of Arkport, NY, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday (April 27, 2026). Born on October 26, 1947, he was the son of the late Winifred and William “Gail” Coombs.

Francis was a United States Army veteran, a skilled contractor, and an entrepreneur who owned and successfully operated multiple businesses throughout his life. He was admired for his honesty, incredible work ethic, and the strength and determination that carried him through life. No matter how hard he worked, his greatest priority was always his family, whom he loved deeply and fiercely.

He is survived by his beloved life companion, Virginia; his children, Tina, Todd, Thomas, and Sara; and his cherished grandchildren, Summer, John, Laina, Fisher, Sophia, Dallas, Jessie, Nora, James and Bradley, who brought him tremendous pride and joy.

Francis will be remembered as a strong, loving, and dependable man whose presence made others feel safe and cared for. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories, lessons, and love that will continue to live on through those who knew him. Though he lived a full and meaningful life, he was taken far too soon and will be deeply missed every day by his family and friends.

To honor his request there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
