SKANEATELES/HORNELL-Eileen M. Benesch, 90, of Skaneateles, formerly of Hornell, entered into rest Tuesday afternoon (Sept. 22, 2020) at Upstate University Hospital at Community General.
Born in Hornell on Mar. 10, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Lena (Flansburg) Coogan Kinne. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her three sons, Mark Kimball, William Kimball and Richard Benesch; two grandsons, Christopher Boisvert and Matthew Countryman; one brother, Harold Kinne; and her former husband, Richard Benesch.
While residing in Hornell Eileen attended Hornell High School and was a member of St. Ann’s Church. Throughout the years she has resided in various areas of New York State and Florida; for the past five years she has made her home in Skaneateles.
Eileen was a devoted homemaker and at one time was employed with the former Lauer’s Furniture Store in Rochester and while residing in Florida she was employed by Lennar Homes as an interior designer and also assisted homebuyers in selecting the décor of their new homes. After her retirement she devoted her time to home health care.
Her loving family includes her three children, Nancy Countryman of Hornell, Mary Alice Benesch Clark of Boynton Beach, Fla. and Steven (Stacy) Benesch of Skaneateles; her former husband, William Kimball of Arkport; six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; one sister, Cheryl Kinne of Canisteo; two brothers, Donald (Kathryn) Coogan of Baldwinsville and Carlyle Coogan of Canisteo; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St., Hornell is honored to serve the family of Eileen M. Benesch.
A memorial service and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
