Edward H. Parker, Jr.
PRATTSBURGH – Our loving father, Edward H. Parker Jr., age 88, passed away peacefully with his loving family surrounding him on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. Born in New York City on February 11, 1935, son of the late Edward Sr. and Pearl; survived by his children, Edward III (Mary), Chris (Mary), Daun (Jerry), Tim (Danielle), Heather (Jim), and Otis Jr (his best friend, the dog); along with his sister, Mimi (Harry); grandchildren and great grandchildren. Predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Catherine; son, James; daughter, Victoria and sisters, Sis (Chuck) and Bea (James).
Ed professed his faith in Jesus Christ at an early age and has been a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church for years. Ed was an avid golfer, father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather, friend, worshiper and jokester. He connected to each person he met and always had a story to share. He was a member of the Penn Yan Moose Club, as well as the American Legion. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war, was in the Army Reserves, worked at Gold Seal Winery, and ultimately found his passion as a Boilermaker.
Ed enjoyed walking his dog, shooting the breeze with friends and family, watching and playing golf. He took pride and joy in his family, was bright and soulful. His large personality included a quick wit and an abundance of jokes. All who knew him, loved him. He will be sorely missed.
Join us in celebrating his life on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at St. Patrick’s Church in Prattsburgh at 12 p.m. Immediately following will be a Celebration of Life at the Prattsburgh Fire Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Penn Yan Manor Nursing Home, 655 Liberty St, Penn Yan, NY 14527 (pennyanmanor.com). The Parker family wishes to thank all caregivers, family and friends for their kind words, prayers and support.
