DONALD BRANDOW

ZEPHYRHILLS, FLA.-Donald Brandow, 78, formerly of Avoca, died Tuesday (July 28, 2009) in Zephyrhills, Fla., after a long illness.
He was born in the town of Howard on Aug. 13, 1930 and served with the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1953.
Employed as a truck driver, Don resided in Avoca before moving to Florida more than nine years ago.
He enjoyed stock car racing.
His family includes his four sons, Timothy (Darlene) Brandow and Perry (Jackie) Brandow all of Bath, James (Deborah) Brandow and Jeffrey (Julie) Brandow all of Avoca; his daughter, Vickie (Steve) Olds also of Avoca; his 12 grandchildren, Todd Gardner, J.R. Brandow, Gary Brandow, Stefan Brandow, Amanda Olds, Steve Olds, Cameron Rouse, Avery Brandow, Brady Brandow, Melissa Reynolds, Michael Travis, Corey Travis; his four great-grandchildren, Contessa VanSkiver and Maison Brandow, Chet Travis and Mayson Travis his brother, John Brandow of Florida; also his nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the Avoca Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., Avoca. Following the calling hours everyone is invited to the Avoca American Legion for a memorial gathering for friends and family. Interment will be held at the convenience of his family at the Bath National Cemetery.
