CHRISTINE E. AMIDON

ARKPORT-Christine E. Amidon, 62, passed away Friday evening (March 23, 2012) at her home at 702 Pine Knoll Park after a six month courageous battle with cancer
Born in Corning on Oct. 18, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Francis “Frank” and Shirley Randall Astolfi. On Aug. 27, 1983, she was married in Corning to Francis Amdion, who survives.
A former resident of Corning, Chris has resided in Arkport since 1983.
For 21 years she was employed by the Brown & Brown Insurance Agency in Dansville as an Account Executive.
Chris was a communicant of St. Ann’s Church of Our Lady of the Valley Parish in Hornell and was also a member of the Arkport Memorial American Legion Post Auxiliary, the Hornell Elks Lodge No. 364 and the Hornell Moose Lodge No. 210.
One of her favorite pastimes was attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.
Her family includes her husband of 28 years, Fran; her daughter, Kimberly McKibben of Hornell; her two stepchildren, Robert Amidon of Houston, Tx. and Patricia Amidon of Arkport; her three grandsons, John, Scott and Christopher McKibben all of Hornell; her four stepgrandchildren; Jenna Amidon (fiancé, Alex Blank) of Rochester, Ashley Amidon of Dansville, Lyndsay Jackson and Elliott Jackson; her two sisters, Mary Edmister and Julie (Harold) Dailey all of Corning; her two brothers, Francis (Debbie) Astolfi of Corning and Michael (Kristi) Astolfi of Painted Post; her four sisters-in-law, Nancy Glover, Linda Gamo (John Walsh), Martha (Thomas) Rink and Kathryn (Spencer) Bardeen all of Arkport; also her nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours are from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St., Hornell. Friends are invited to meet her family at St. Ann’s Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Private interment will be at the Arkport Heritage Hill Cemetery at the convenience of her family.
