CATHERINE A. GRUMLEY

ROCHESTER/REXVILLE-Catherine A. Grumley of Rochester, formerly of Rexville, passed away early Wednesday morning (July 8, 2009) at Unity Hospital in Rochester, after a long illness.
Born in Rexville she was a daughter of the late Thomas F. and Agnes L. McCaffery Grumley.
A graduate of Greenwood High School, Catherine has resided in Rochester for more than 50 years where she was a long time communicant of Holy Rosary Church.
She loved gardening and was devoted to her pets.
Her family includes her son, Michael Grumley of Baltimore, Md., her three sisters, Joan Rees of Hornell, Josephine (Richard) DeSanto of Rochester and Patricia (Sal) Cavallaro of Cromwell, Ct.; her brother, Theodore Grumley of Rochester; also her many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother-in-law, John Rees.
To honor her wishes there will be no calling hours. Friends are invited to meet her family at the Chapel of St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Fremont, where a Christian Burial and Committal service will be held at 11 a.m Saturday, with the Rev. Paul Schnacky officiating.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in her memory to the American Cancer Society or to the Animal Shelter of the donor’s choice.
