CAROLYN R. KELLY

HORNELL-Carolyn R. Kelly, formerly of 61 Maple Street, died Saturday morning (Aug. 20, 2011) in Boardman, Ohio with family by her side.
She was the only child of J. Carroll and Mary Agnes Remington. Carolyn graduated from Hornell High School and enjoyed working for the Erie Railroad and Steuben Trust Company before her marriage to Dr. James R. Kelly. They celebrated nearly 58 years of love and happiness until his death in 2005.
Carolyn’s pride and joy was her family. She will be deeply missed by her six children, James Raymond III (Christine) Kelly of Raleigh, NC, Christine Kelly of Fairport, Michael (Karen) Kelly of Hudson, Ohio, Susan (Ben) Sunderlin of Boardman, Ohio, Luke (Sally) Kelly of Saunderstown, RI and Mariora Kelly Texier of Raleigh, NC. Also surviving are her 12 grandchildren, Matthew, Heather, Catherine, Sara, Michael, Benny, Katie, Erin, Kyle, Jordan, Luke and Sammy; and her two great-grandchildren, Ella (the nursing home entertainer) and dear newborn, Dylan. Many dear in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews mourn her loss too.
Mrs. Kelly was a lifelong member of St. Ann’s Parish and a supporter of the church, school and rectory. She was a member for over 50 years of St. James Mercy Hospital Women’s Auxiliary and so enjoyed the company of the “girls.”
Mary Carolyn Remington Kelly will forever be remembered for her sweet and thoughtful heart.
“When through one woman, a little more love and goodness, a little more light and truth come into this world, then that woman’s life has meaning.”
