Bonnie Thurston Linehan

Bonnie Thurston Linehan

April 5, 1936 – July 13, 2022

“At one point or another, she took care of all of us,” it is with heavy hearts that we share the news of our mother’s passing.

Bonnie was born in Bath, NY and was a proud graduate of Haverling High School in 1954.  She loved going to class reunions every five years.  From there she did her schooling at Robert Packer in Sayre, PA.  She received her registered nursing degree and moved back home to work at Ira Davenport.  After being a stay-at-home mom for years, she returned to nursing at the infirmary in Bath.  First as a floor nurse and then promoted to the head nurse.  Her favorite job was being the school nurse in Hammondsport which she did for seventeen years.  She loved the kids and I know many of them have amazing stories of Mom and the sage advice she gave.

Bonnie loved the sunshine, tending her gorgeous flowers and her animals.  She could typically be found sitting in the sun reading a good book with a cat or two sitting next to her.  We can’t thank the staff at Highland Hospital and Advent House enough.  Their kindness and generosity were felt by mom and the four of us.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Harold Thurston, her brothers Harold and Carl and her son Michael Linehan.  She is survived by her sister, Linda Burdick. Her Daughters Elizabeth Linehan, Tracy Linehan, Emily Lantaff (Ananda Lantaff), and Kathryn Linehan (Nico White) and her seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bonnie’s memory can be made to Advent House, 1010 Mosley Rd,  Fairport, NY 14450 or Keuka Comfort Care , 35 NY-54, Penn Yan, NY 14527.

A celebration of life is being planned.

The Bishop & DeSanto Funeral Home is honored to assist Bonnie’s family with the arrangements.
