Anthony Michael “Duges” Dugo
HORNELL-Anthony Michael “Duges” Dugo, 52, passed away peacefully Sunday (July 10, 2022) at his home on Erie Avenue, after a recent illness.
Born in North Hornell on Aug. 26, 1969, he was the son of the late Nicholas Dugo, who predeceased him on May 3, 2017, and Nancy (McCollumn) Dugo, who survives.
A lifelong resident of Hornell, Anthony was a graduate of Hornell High School class of 1989. As a youth, he was involved with the Grasshoppers, Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball and was formerly employed by The Evening Tribune, Stop N Shop and TTA in Hornell.
Anthony was a member of the Carducci Lodge in Hornell and loved to fish and he especially enjoyed music and liked to grow his own peppers, the “hotter the better.” He will be remembered most of all for being a “diehard” Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
He is lovingly survived by his mother, Nancy Dugo (fiance’, John Congelli) of Hornell; one brother, Nicholas Dugo of Hornell; three half-sisters, Julie Truslow, Aubrey Dugo and Kati Smith; three aunts, Kathy (John) Capluzzi of Hornell, Donna Dugo of Canandaigua and Alberta “Bertie” Dugo of Florida; as well as many cousins and friends.
Besides his father, he was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Donald and Ann Dugo and maternal grandparents, Donald and Winifred McCollumn.
Calling hours are 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday (July 18, 2022) at the Bishop-Johnson & DeSanto Funeral Home, 285 Main St., Hornell, where a funeral service will take place following calling hours at 1 p.m. Monday. Committal services and interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Fremont.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in his memory to the Hornell High School Alumni Association, P.O. Box 135, Hornell, NY 14843. Envelopes for memorial contributions will be available at the funeral home.
